Together, they built this project: Jomar developed the overall system, while Maricel and Mary Joy handled the research paper and interviews. They united their expertise to address issues related to the marketability and discoverability of products through an innovative IT system for their capstone project.
SHOPniISU (Shopping Hub of Products Networked in Isabela State University) is an e-commerce system (website and Android application) that runs efficiently on all platforms. It is designed with simplicity and user-friendliness in mind. It was developed specifically for Isabela State University - Roxas Campus products and its partners. Currently, the university has CRGM (Campus Resource Generation Management) and R&D (Research & Development), and its partners are Saplot and Ating Tindahan by LGU Roxas. The four shops, which operate their own businesses, will utilize this next-generation e-commerce platform. All products ensure that you receive high-quality and trusted items made by the university and its partners.
Inspired by the suggestion from our capstone teacher, we originally planned to launch this system across all Isabela State University campuses throughout the province. Although other campuses loved the idea, due to time constraints and the frequent storms and typhoons during the "Ber months" in the Philippines—especially in Isabela province—we decided to begin with Roxas campus and its partners. Our goal was to develop a platform that is both powerful and a pleasure to use. This system was developed based on international standard Human Interface Guidelines, and we have ensured smooth usability for all users, even those experiencing technical issues. With the "shake to buy" feature, users can simply shake their phone to purchase a product.
